PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
This webinar will explore innovative models that cities are using to overcome budget and funding constraints for intelligent network infrastructure. These new models allow for faster deployment of smart city projects and implementations, while also providing return and savings for the parties involved. The panelists will provide examples and best practices for using public funding and private investment for such infrastructure, as well as how we can move beyond traditional financing to address city challenges and infrastructure goals.

PRESENTERS:
Chris Magill, Ice Miller LLP & Lindsay Miller, Ice Miller LLP
Chris Magill is the Economic Development Director for Ice Miller and leads a collaborative team of professionals and attorneys to assist public and private sector clients in achieving growth strategies through economic development consulting. For public sector clients, Chris advises local governments in building strategic economic plans and creating sustainable economic development tools at the state, regional, county and municipal levels in an effort to enhance an area’s standard of living, including project return-on- investment tools, economic impact analysis and structuring of new incentive programs to enable growth.

Lindsay Miller is an attorney with the Public Affairs and Government Law Group. With nearly ten years of experience in technology initiatives, Lindsay has a reputation in the broadband and telecommunications arena of being a strong advocate with a successful track record in building relationships with public and private sector stakeholders. Lindsay regularly advises municipalities on how to utilize Public-Private Partnerships for fiber and Wi-Fi expansion in order to build smarter cities and leverage the Internet of Things (IoT). This includes providing guidance and counseling to multi-sector leaders as they seek to develop and finance Smart City infrastructure, and implement policies to enable developing technologies, such as connected/ autonomous vehicles (CAVs).
