PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
The last option - laying off in an economic downturn. The presenter was involved in drafting the layoff provisions of civil service law and regulations, has negotiated several hundred union contracts which include layoff provisions, and been involved in layoffs at all levels of government in Ohio. This session will focus on the process and proof needed to establish the basis for a reduction in force. This session will explore alternatives to layoffs and how to execute those. Importantly, the session will incorporate the impact of the unemployment provisions of the CARES Act.
