PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
This webinar will provide participants with an overview of the impact that emerging technologies will have, and already are having, on broadband needs within Ohio’s communities. Participants will learn about the various approaches to expanding broadband access – including privately owned networks, publicly owned networks, and public-private partnership approaches – and how to assess which approach best accommodates community needs and capabilities. Rights-of-way issues and permitting processes will also be explored. This webinar will also address federal and state programs to help fund local broadband initiatives.

PRESENTERS:
Gregory Dunn, Ice Miller LLP & Lindsay Miller, Ice Miller LLP
Greg Dunn has represented telecommunication clients for more than 40 years, providing legal and strategic assistance to a variety of private and public clients. Greg has a comprehensive knowledge of both public utility and broadband issues and regularly works with clients on Smart City initiatives and public-private partnerships. His clients include municipalities, The Ohio State Supercomputer Center, competitive local exchange carriers (CLEC), data centers and wireless providers. He also consults on state of Ohio broadband and Internet of Things (IoT) public policy issues with Ice Miller Whiteboard LLC and has Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) experience in electric issues.

Registrants are encouraged to set up for the webinar in a conference room, with a speaker phone and a computer screen, and to invite other city officials to attend. Registrants are encouraged to notify us of the number of participants attending the webinar and if any are from other communities. (This is for our records, only).

We realize that most people will access this webinar from their homes. There is no limit to the number of attendees from each community. The $125 charge is per city/village, no matter how many individuals participate separately. Just let me know the email addresses of those who wish to participate.
